THE DROPTV’S TOP 5 FESTIVALS IN SEPTEMBER

Summer may be coming to close, but music fans are not slowing down! With September bringing us some of the year’s best festivals and in honor of Nocturnal Wonderland’s 20th Anniversary this Labor Day weekend, we have compiled the TOP 5 festivals you need to check out this month.
#5 FROM EAST COAST TO WEST – NORTH COAST MUSIC FESTIVAL – CHICAGO, IL + NOCTURNAL WONDERLAND – SAN BERNARDINO, CA 9/4-9/6
Nocturnal-Wonderland-THUMP-2
I’m going to sort of bend the rules here because both of these festivals are going to take over their “coasts” this weekend! If you’re on the east coast Chicago is bringing you the North Coast Music Festival in Union Park, where fans will get a chance to dance to acts like Knife Party, Jauz, Porter Robinson, Portugal The Man, The Roots, Steve Aoki, Trippy Turtle, Tycho, and my personal favorite My Chemical Brothers. A summer favorite, this eclectic blend of hip hop, indie, and electronic has brought out  audiences for over 5 years now. www.northcoastfestival.com
But don’t be jealous west coasters because when it came to the 20th Anniversary of Nocturnal Wonderland in San Bernardino, CA Insomniac put together one of the most anticipated line ups this festival has ever seen. From Kaskade, and Armin Van Buuren, to Flosstradamus, Bassnectar, and Pretty Lights, this massive festival will bring out more than 50,000 concert goers, that’s if the LA traffic doesn’t get to them first. www.nocturnalwonderland.com
#4 SD TWO DAY TAKEOVER – TRAMPS LIKE US –  SAN DIEGO, CA 9/25 & 9/26
Tramps
As avid visitors of this 2-day party, we’ve noticed year to year the growth of Tramps Like Us, and LED’s continual efforts to bring SD music lovers a fresh line up. This year Adventure Club, 3LAU, and Brillz among others will take the stage, but that’s not all they have up their sleeves. Special guest Martin Solveig will make his way to SoCal to play a little something for the fans this year. For tickets go to www.mylifeeveryday.com/tramps-like-us
#3 ITS A RIOT – RIOT FEST CHICAGO, IL 9/11-9/13
RFJ_0545
Celebrating its 10th year with making fans go nuts, Riot Fest has really taken the festival experience to a high level with top food vendors, carnival rides, and of course a great line-up . Taking place in Chicago, with stops in Toronto and Denver, the festival specializes in punk, rock, alternative, metal, and hip-hop music acts. Not focused on EDM, this makes my list because who can argue watching artists like System of a Down, Billy Idol, Tenacious D, Modest Mouse, No Doubt, Damien “Jr Gong” Marley, and Ice Cube all in the same city. #2  WHAT ONCE WAS A HOTEL PARTY- TBD FEST 9/18-9/10 SACRAMENTO, CA
tbd-location
What THUMP began as a one day hotel party, TBD fest has grown into a 3 day major festival in California. With performers like one of our favorites RL Grime, and top acts RATATAT, Chromeo, A-trak, and Mobb Deep, this music jam is ending the summer with a bang, and bringing elements of design and food to the experience. #1 ALL IS BEAUTIFUL IN VEGAS – LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL – LAS VEGAS, NV 9/25-27
Life-is-Beautiful-2014-Cameron-Grant-thehighpoints-com
By far one of the best line ups of the Summer, Life is Beautiful makes our top spot festival to catch this month. I have two words for you STEVIE WONDER…what more can I say! This legend will take the stage in Downtown Las Vegas, headlining after acts like Snoop Dogg, Kygo, Twenty-One Pilots, Walk The Moon, and Major Lazor, take the stage. Other headliners include Kendrick Lamar, and Imagine Dragons. With Vegas being the epicenter for food, this festival will also bring an eclectic culinary line-up, while delivering learning seminars (Learning Series), and one of a kind artwork displays to its visitors.
