Bassnectar is back in the limelight, in a way that he hasn’t been before. There are many die-hard followers of the amorphous bass-heavy artist, but to those that think Bassnectar’s wide popularity came and went along with the dubstep era, you are sorely mistaken.
Bassnectar has been consistently selling out shows (most notably his epic 3 show run at Red Rocks), releasing a slew of projects, and putting on events with his name attached. The long-haired guru of Bass has been churning out music and experiences for the better part of a decade, but still, fans had been clamoring for more. So the revered “Bass King” listened.
The result? Bassnectar now has his own camping festival. Announced earlier this week, Bass Center 2016 will be his first 2-day festival, where bass heads can camp out and immerse themselves in all things bass. As many will attest, Bassnectar-hosted events are as heavy as they come… and this year’s lineup will surely get you feeling some phantom wobbles as you read it.
Included on the bill:
Flux Pavilion, Wu-Tang Clan, Flying Lotus, Porter Robinson, Lupe Fiasco, AlunaGeorge, and Minnesota.
As if that wasn’t enough, today, news has confirmed that Bassnectar will be headlining Mysteryland 2016 with Skrillex and Odesza. Closing out the final day of the “world’s longest running electronic music and arts festival,” the legendary Bass King is continuing to make is mark in the scene while curiously staying under the radar.
